Fiji and Pacific sprint sensation Banuve Tabakaucoro says he wants more game time and exposure to be able to compete at the international level.
The 24-year-old has caught the attention of Australian Rugby League clubs, including the Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby team after his recent Australian rugby tour.
Tabakaucoro displayed his lightning speed and helped his newly‑formed Silverwaters Barbarians team to reach two cup finals in Sydney and Melbourne.
However, he has put on hold all these rugby offers to focus on his goal to play for the Fiji 7s team.
The speedster confirmed that he was in talks with Melbourne Rebels officials at the tournament but has put on hold all rugby offers.
Tabakacoro scored six tries in his first tournament exceeding his coach’s expectation.
He is aiming to be a future Olympian, and he believes with proper guidance and training, he will fulfill his goal.
