Switzerland holds Brazil to a 1-all draw while Germany goes down to Mexico 1-0

Brazil and Switzerland have played out a one all draw in their FIFA World Cup Group E match in the last hour.

Phillipe Coutinho scored the goal for Brazil in the 20th minute with a brilliant curling shot from outside of Switzerland’s penalty box.

Switzerland’s Steven Zuber scored the equalizer in the 50th minute.

Brazil had many opportunities to score however the Swiss defence stood tall.

Meanwhile, defending champions, Germany, have lost their opening Group F match 1-0 against Mexico earlier this morning.

Hirving Lozano was the hero for Mexico as he scored the winning goal in the 35th minute of the first half.

This was Germany’s first World Cup defeat since losing the 2010 semi-final against Spain.

This was also the first time a German side had lost their opening game of the tournament since 1982, when West Germany were beaten by Algeria.

In another match, Serbia defeated Costa Rica 1-0.
