Suva tops pool, qualifies for semifinals with Nadi from pool B

The Suva soccer team surprised everyone after thrashing Lautoka 5-1 to qualify for the semifinals as pool winners in the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants at Ratu Cakobau Park.

With this scoreline, Suva helped Nadi to qualify for the semifinal as runners-up as a draw would have meant Nadi out of the BOG and Lautoka going through.

 Suva Captain Maciu Dunadamu led by example and scored two goals, Noa Vukica scored two while Nickel Chand scored one.

Edward Justin scored the lone goal for the Blues.

In the earlier matches, Rewa thrashed Nadroga 6-0 while Nadi thumped Tailevu Naitasiri 5-0.

The final match of the day is now underway between Labasa and Ba.

The Babasiga Lions just need a draw to qualify while Ba is in a must win situation to qualify with Rewa from this particular pool.
