Suva continues their commanding lead on day three of the 2019 Fiji Games with 41 gold, 32 silver and 24 bronze medals.
Rotuma is in second place with 14 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze, in third place is Nadi with 8 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze while Naitasiri is in fourth place with 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Vilimaina Naituku won gold the Open Women’s 5000 metres event with a time of 21 minutes, 31.50 seconds while Noelene Mallam of Suva settled for the silver medal.
100 metres:
Suva’s Heleina Young won the Open Women’s 100 metres event clocking a time of 11.90 seconds while Tailevu’s Makereta Naulu won silver with a time of 12.40 seconds and Sisilia Seavula of Ba won the bronze medal clocking a time of 12.70 seconds.
Suva’s Banuve Tabakaucoro clocked a time of 10.80 seconds to win gold in the Open Men’s 100 metres event.
Naitasiri’s Samuela Railoa settled for the silver medal while Tony Lemeki of Suva won the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, the Districts of Serua, Nasinu, Nausori, and Kadavu have also bagged medals.
