A ten men Suva soccer team beat Rewa 2-1 at Ratu Cakobau Park this afternoon in the opening round of the Vodafone Premier League.
Rewa took the lead in the first half through a Iosefo Verevou goal but Suva got their act together in the second half and scored two goals through striker, Rusiate Matarereqa.
Suva's Poasa Bainivalu was shown a red card in the match.
Meanwhile, defending champions Nadi earned a hard fought 2-nil victory over neighbors Nadroga at Prince Charles Park.
Nadi's goals were scored by Napolioni Qasevakatini and Waisake Tabucala.
