A number of Super Rugby and Wallabies players in the Melbourne Rising squad will face off with the Fiji Airways Drua in the opening match of Australia’s National Rugby Championship at Ratu Cakobau Park this Saturday.
There are a number of players with links to Fiji in the Melbourne Rising squad including flanker Isi Naisarani, wing Sefanaia Naivalu, fullback Kiti Ratu, back row brothers Sakaria Noa and George Noa as well as centre Kemu Valetini.
Former Fiji Bati wing Fabian Goodall is also in the squad.
Also included in the 33-man squad is new Wallabies player Jack Maddocks.
The Fijian Drua’s first ever win in the NRC was against Melbourne Rising last September.
The Fijian Drua will have four home games this season.
They will take on Melbourne Rising in their first home game at 3pm at Ratu Cakobau Park this Saturday.
The Drua’s other home games will be at Churchill Park against Brisbane City on the 8th of next month, they will again play at Ratu Cakobau Park against NSW Country Eagles on the 29th of next month before taking on the Canberra Vikings at Churchill Park on October 6th.Listen to the latest news on our 5 radio stations Legend FM, Viti FM, Radio Sargam, FM96 and Navtarang.
