Melbourne Storm will be hoping last night’s winning run extends into the weekend after scooping the pool at the Dally M awards.
Young Fiji born wing Suliasi Vunivalu continued his remarkable rookie season by picking up the award for the NRL’s leading tryscorer this year.
Vunivalu is one of the NRL stories of the year, scoring 23 tries after making his first‑grade debut in Round 7.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy is amazed about Vunivalu’s achievement.
Melbourne Storm star Cooper Cronk won his second player of the year award and halfback of the year, Skipper Cameron Smith took home both the representative player of the year award and the hooker of the year while Kiwi star Jesse Bromwich further cemented his status as the game’s best front‑rower, winning his first Dally M prop of the year award.
Vunivalu missed out of the Peter Moore Award for Rookie of the Year which was won by Titans playmaker Ashley Taylor.
The Storm will take on the Sharks at 8.15pm Sunday in the NRL Grand Final.
