His dream when he was a kid was to play for Fiji and now Vodafone Fiji Bati hooker James Storer is chasing his dream again to play for the Bati at this year’s Rugby League World Cup.
Storer who has links to Vanuabalavu and Tailevu played for Fiji at the 2008 and the 2013 World Cup.
The 35-year-old remembers that he once told his grandmother that he will play for Fiji one day.
He says that his grandmother laughed when he said this.
Storer adds that he is training hard to represent the Bati again.
He believes that Fiji has a good chance in this year’s World Cup.
Meanwhile the Vodafone Inter-zone grand final will be held this weekend as local players are also vying for a place in the Vodafone Fiji Bati squad.
The Nasinu Knights will take on the Nadi Aviators in the Men’s final, the Women’s final will see Nadroga Knights taking on Lautoka Crusaders while the Nasinu Titans will face Nadi Aviators in the Under 20 final.
The Fiji Residents Bati will face the Fiji Overseas Bati for the Battle of the Bati before the final Bati squad is announced on October 7.
Meanwhile the Bati will be host the Australian Kangaroos and the PNG Kumuls at the ANZ Stadium on the 14th of next month.
