Squire ruled out for 6 weeks with broken thumb

All Blacks and Highlanders flanker Liam Squire

All Blacks and Highlanders flanker Liam Squire has been ruled out for six weeks with a broken thumb against the Crusaders.

He will miss the Highlanders first away matches over the next two weeks when they face the Hurricanes and Chiefs.

Squire spent a similar time period on the sideline last season when he also broke his thumb.

The Highlanders will play the Hurricanes at 6.35pm Saturday.

Meanwhile looking at other matches, the Crusaders play the Bulls at 6.35pm Friday while the Rebels take on the Sharks at 8.45pm Friday.

On Saturday, the Sunwolves play the Chiefs at 4.15pm.

On Sunday, the Stormers take on the Reds at 3.15am while the Jaguares play the Lions at 9.40am.
