Springboks to make more use of their bench in Sydney 7s

Springboks Sevens coach Neil Powell says they are going to make more use of their bench when they head to the Sydney Sevens at the end of this month.

Powell admits that they got a scary wake‑up call in their 2017/18 World Sevens Series quarter‑final against the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team in Cape Town and losing to New Zealand in the semifinal.

Powell confirms that Seobelo Senatla and Kwagga Smith will be returning to their Super Rugby franchises after the Hamilton 7s which will require the others to step up for the Commonwealth Games and the World Cup 7s in July.

South Africa is in Pool C with England, Spain and Papua New Guinea.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with New Zealand, Samoa and Russia in Pool A.

The Sydney 7s will be held from the 26th to the 28th of this month.
