Dubbed as the next Semi Radradra, Panthers winger Maika Sivo has declared his availability to play for the Vodafone Fiji Bati at the Rugby League World if given a chance.
The 23-year-old from Momi village in Nadroga could add more attacking threats to the deadly Fiji Bati backline which includes big names such as Jarryd Hayne, Semi Radradra, Suliasi Vunivalu, John Sutton, Apisai Koroisau, Kevin Naiqama, Akuila Uate and Marcelo Montoya.
Fiji National Rugby League CEO Timoci Naleba had earlier said that they need all their available best players for the World Cup.
Sivo was part of the Nadroga and Fiji Under 20 back in 2013 where he played with Flying Fijians flanker Peceli Yato, Mesake Doge and Kini Douglas.
The former Nadi Sangam College student says he has been getting a lot of help from Fiji Bati forward Viliame Kikau who is also playing for the Panthers.
Meanwhile Sivo hopes to be part of the “The Battle of the Bati” trial which will be held on October 7 at the ANZ Stadium.
This will include all the players vying for a spot in the Fiji Bati team as their trial before the World Cup.
The Fiji Bati are pooled with USA, Wales and Italy.
