Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji has confirmed that All Blacks Legend Sir Michael Jones will be speaking to high school rugby captains and teams tomorrow at the Suva Grammar School Hall.
Michael arrives on Friday to be chief guest at the Old Skool Ball at the GPH.
Among schools that will be sending their rugby captains for the event are Lelean Memorial School, Jeremiah College, Nasinu Secondary School, Marist Brothers High School, William Cross College, John Wesley College, Suva Grammar School and Bau Central College.
Sir Michael will share his insights, training and the values he has nurtured to help the young leaders achieve their goals.
Michael will also raise awareness on the importance of player safety on the pitch as well as management of injuries and impacts.
The Association says that Michael will also relate some humorous and behind‑the‑scenes insights of some of the famous matches and engagements he has been involved in.
Off the field, Michael's is greatly involved in charity work and his work in the shipping industry.
Viti Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji President Paul McGoon says they are expecting 250 to 300 people to attend the event and enjoy the night of entertainment and charity.
They call on corporate bodies and the general public to support the Ball and assist in raising funds to improve the lives of people living with spinal injuries.
Michael says he is very glad to come to Fiji to support such a great cause, and he felt it is a privilege to stand by those whose lives have been shattered by spinal injury.
