Former Hurricanes captain Brad Shields is expected to join the English side in their match against the All Blacks.
This is after England's injury crisis deepened three weeks ahead of the Twickenham test.
Eddie Jones lost Chris Robshaw yesterday due to an injury forcing him to have knee surgery which will mean that he will miss all of England's November internationals.
Also, No 8 Billy Vunipola was ruled out earlier due to a broken arm and England are already without injured lock Joe Launchbury, fullback Anthony Watson and back rower Sam Simmonds.
The loss of loose forwards means former Hurricanes back‑rower Shields will likely play an important role for the team against his country of birth.
England coach Eddie Jones will be naming his squad tomorrow for the internationals which see England take on South Africa, New Zealand, Japan and Australia.
