The Cronulla Sharks will have a player on guard this week as back‑rower Kurt Capewell will wear a protective guard around his groin in the NRL semi final against the Panthers after rupturing a testicle two weeks ago.
Capewell will start on the bench in Cronulla's semi‑final against Penrith in Sydney on Friday.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the 24-year-old didn't even know he had sustained the injury in Cronulla's win over the Bulldogs in the final round of the regular season.
Capewell says he found out he had ruptured a testicle after an ultrasound.
The Dragons will play the Rabbitohs at 9.40pm Saturday while the Sharks will play the Panthers at 9.40pm Friday.
Meanwhile the Roosters alongside with the Melbourne Storm have qualified for the NRL Preliminary Finals.
The winner of the Sharks and Panthers match will play the Melbourne Storm while the winner of the Dragons and Rabbitohs game will play the Roosters.
