Wing Sevu Reece scored a hat‑trick of tries as the Crusaders have enhanced their status as the best rugby union team by a mile with a comprehensive 45-13 demolition of the Bulls in their Super Rugby encounter in Pretoria.
In what turned out to be a one-sided match, the defending champions maintained their place at top of the standings with their ninth win of the season after twelve matches.
They outscored the Bulls by seven to one tries with Richie Mo’unga, who also contributed ten points with the boot, helping himself two a brace while Sevu Reece returned with a hat‑trick.
Meanwhile, Beauden and Jordie Barrett starred as the Hurricanes came from behind to beat the Blues 22‑12 in Auckland.
It was strong defensive effort that saw the Hurricanes beat a disappointing Blues side.
Disappointing because the Blues had so many opportunities, especially at five‑metre scrums close to the Hurricanes, only to fail to score from any of them.
The Blues moved the ball more often but lacked accuracy.
Meanwhile, the Rebels beat the Reds 30-24.
The Highlanders play the Jaguares at 5.15pm today in Dunedin.
The Chiefs meet the Sharks in Waikato at 7.35pm today while the Lions face the Waratahs at 1.05am tomorrow.
