Serena Williams will bid for a record seventh US Open title

Serena Williams has another shot at winning her first Grand Slam title since giving birth after defeating Anastasija Sevastova in 66 minutes in their US Open semi‑final.

The 36‑year‑old American will play Japan's Naomi Osaka in tomorrow's final after the 20th seed beat Madison Keys.

Victory will equal Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

Williams will compete in her 31st Grand Slam final and ninth US Open final.

Meanwhile in the men’s competition, former champions Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will bid to set up a 53rd meeting with victories in the US Open semi‑finals today.

Spanish defending champion Nadal is currently playing Argentine third seed Juan Martin del Potro in the first semifinal while two‑time winner Djokovic will take on Japan's Kei Nishikori in the second U.S Open semifinal.
