Vodafone Fiji 7s team coach Gareth Baber says selecting his first ever Fiji 7s team was not an easy job.
Baber says the players trained at the standard that he expected them too and there was top performances from the Fiji Baabas team in South America.
Baber says he knows what kind of pressure to expect from his first tournament as Fiji coach.
The team for the Wellington 7s includes captain Osea Kolinisau, Jasa Veremalua, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Setareki Bituniyata, Nemani Nagusa, Kalioni Nasoko, Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou, Alifereti Veitokani, Amenoni Nasilasila, Samisoni Viriviri, Joeli Lutumailagi and debutants Nacanieli Labalaba Mesulame Kunavula.
Fiji will play Australia in their first pool match at 10.46am next Saturday before facing Japan at 2.10pm while Fiji’s last pool match will be against South Africa at 6.18pm next Saturday.
The medal quarterfinals will begin at 11.38am next Sunday while the semifinals will begin at 4.16pm.
The medal final will be held at 7.30pm next Sunday.
The Fiji 7s team will depart for Wellington next Tuesday.
