Secondary School Rugby Zone Competition continues

The Secondary School Rugby Zone Competition continued this weekend as they get ready for their quarterfinals next week.

In the Southern Zone, Suva Grammar Under 14 drew 15-all with Marist Brothers High School, Marist Under 15 thrashed Nasinu Secondary 19-0, Marist Under 17 beat Gospel High School 24-8 while their Under 19 side edged Lomaivuna High School 8-5.

In the Eastern Zone, the Queen Victoria School Under 18 team defeated Lelean Memorial School 16-5 while Saint John Cawaci upset Ratu Kadavulevu School 11-10.

QVS is currently leading the Eastern Zone Under 18 points table, RKS is second, Saint Johns is third while Lelean is sitting at fourth place.

This year the Northern Zone will field in two teams to play the fourth teams from the Eastern and Southern zones before their eliminations.

Lelean will meet the top team from the north in the play-offs for the semifinals if they finish fourth in the Eastern Zone.

The different zones have their quarterfinals next week, the zonal semis will be on 9th July while the finals will be on July 16th.

There will be a week break for the schools that have qualified for the National quarters which will be held on July 30th at the ANZ Stadium.

The semis will be on August 6th at Lawaqa Park while the Deans final is scheduled to be held on 13th August with the venue to be confirmed.
