Boxer Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh has been stripped off his WBF Asia Pacific Super lightweight title.
This has been confirmed to Fijivillage by his manager Amand Ravindra Singh.
‘The Sniper’ was scheduled to defend his title against Brent Dames of Australia in the upcoming Westwood Boxing Promotion but fell ill with Dengue Fever and was not able to train for the past week.
The World Boxing Foundation stripped Singh off his title due to his inability to meet the required weight to fight Dames on the 2nd of February.
His manager Ravindra Singh lashed out at the decision of the WBF saying that the safety and health of his boxer is his sole priority.
Boxing Commission of Fiji Chairman Sara Bulutani says that the commission respects the decision of the WBF.
He adds that Singh is currently looking to fight a New Zealand opponent, but it will be a non-title fight on the 16th of next month at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami.
