Vodafone Flying Fijians prop Manasa Saulo has been banned for 10 weeks for stamping on the head of Wales lock Luke Charteris.
The ban is the toughest handed out yet for an offence at the Rugby World Cup.
Saulo jumped on Wales replacement Charteris during Fiji's 23‑13 defeat in Cardiff last Friday.
The Judicial officer who handled the hearing had considered a four month ban.
The statement highlighted that taking into account mitigating factors including Saulo’s early admission, disciplinary record, good character and remorse and the absence of any off‑field aggravating factors, he was suspended for a period of 10 weeks.
Manasa Saulo will only be allowed to start playing again on the 18th of January next year.
Meanwhile Argentina beat Tonga 45-16 while Ireland edged Italy 16-9 this morning.
