The Saint John’s College Under‑18 rugby team in action

The Saint John’s College Under‑18 rugby team will head into the Coke Zero Deans quarterfinal with a lot of confidence and are aiming for the Deans title this year.

The boys from Cawaci made the headlines this year after their famous 21-8 win over defending champion Queen Victoria School in Round 3 of the Eastern Zone competition.

Head Coach Sefanaia Takape says their aim this year was to secure a quarter final spot where they beat Lelean Memorial School in the play-off.

Saint John’s Cawaci has never won the Deans title since its inception in 1939 and Takape is calling on all former students to turn out in numbers and support the team.

Saint John’s College will take on Southern Zone champion Nasinu Secondary School at 10.50am Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.

In other Under 18 quarter final matches, Cuvu College will take on Suva Grammar School at 12.20pm, Ratu Kadavulevu School will face Marist Brothers High School at 3pm while QVS will take on Ratu Navula College at 5pm.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Cuvu College-Suva Grammar, RKS- Marist, QVS-Ratu Navula College matches on our sister station Viti FM on 92.2FM.
