Olympics gold medal winning former Fiji sevens coach Ben Ryan has taken a consultancy role with Wales.
He has joined the Welsh Rugby Union to work with all men's and women’s teams.
Ryan will start work immediately.
He will mainly manage and support the delivery of the WRU coaching courses at level 3 and 4 and ensure coaches are right up to speed with new developments with a continuous programme of refresher courses to run alongside official qualifications ‑ specifically covering Premiership, Regional Age Grade and national sevens, national women and national Age Grade coaching.
The Englishman says he is really looking forward to all that lies ahead.
In a statement, the Welsh Rugby Union said Ben Ryan's appointment is a real coup for Welsh rugby and they are particularly interested in benefitting from the meticulous attention to detail and major planning experience which he showed to maximum effect during the Olympics in Rio.
Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team for the Wellington 7s is expected to be named this week.
Fiji will play Australia in their first pool match at 10.46am next Saturday before facing Japan at 2.10pm while Fiji's last pool match will be against South Africa at 6.18pm next Saturday.
The medal quarterfinals will begin at 11.38am next Sunday while the semifinals will begin at 4.16pm.
The medal final will be held at 7.30pm next Sunday.
