Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan is expected to name some new players for the Pacific Games.

With the team having their first training session this afternoon, Ryan has told Fijivillage that this is a good opportunity for new players to wear the white jersey.

Some of the players that are expected to be named in the side are Wardens and Namosi wing Abele Yalayalatabua, Telecom Fiji Warriors and Nadroga midfielder Eroni Vasiteri, Viliame Mata and Josaia Wini.

Ryan is also working with the Fiji Under 18 7s side that is preparing for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa in September.

The Pacific Games 7s competition will be held next Wednesday to Friday.

Fiji’s first pool match will be against Papua New Guinea at 3.28pm next Wednesday.

Fiji will then play Guam at 6.46pm and face Solomon Islands at 10.04pm.

Fiji’s last pool match will be against Tahiti at 4.20pm next Thursday.

The quarter‑finals, semi‑finals and final will be played next Friday.
