Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is expected to make some changes to the team that will take part in the Pacific Games.
Ryan will arrive in the country on the 19th of next month before assembling a 20 member training squad.
Co-Manager Ropate Kauvesi says the Fiji Rugby Union has also sent a directive to all the unions not to allow the current members of the national sevens side to play in any Skipper Cup matches as they have been requested to rest for four weeks.
Kauvesi adds that they will include the current players who are in Ryan’s list including those who were part of the last World Sevens Series leg.
Samoa is the Pacific Games defending champion in the 7s competition.
Fiji is expected to face stiff competition as New Zealand and Australia are also part of the games this year.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
