Andy Ruiz Jr. hopes to use his extra weight as a weapon against heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua when the pair meet at Madison Square Garden later today.
Joshua will defend his IBF, WBA and WBO titles against Ruiz, who is looking to become the first Mexican heavyweight champion.
The 29‑year‑old hopes the extra weight will help him overcome Joshua’s height and reach advantage.
Ruiz says wants to carry his weight well so his punches are going to hit harder.
Joshua brings an undefeated record of 22 wins, including 21 knockouts, to the ring against Ruiz who has 32 wins and one defeat including 21 knockouts.
The fight program is expected to start at 9 this morning.
