The Chiefs are taking their latest injury setback on the chin after prop Aidan Ross was ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season with a broken ankle.
At prop alone, they had already lost Atu Moli for the rest of the campaign while it remains doubtful when All Blacks Nepo Laulala and Kane Hames will return to play.
Coach Colin Cooper believes bad luck rather than bad management is behind the injury worries but he can't afford to dwell on it.
The Chiefs will take on the Reds at 9.45pm this Saturday.
