Fiji born and former All Blacks winger Joe Rokocoko scored a try for Racing 92 and helped his side win their first French Top 14 Title in 26 years as they beat Toulon 29-21 this morning.
33-year-old Rokocoko showed that he still got the skills and pace to score an individual try in front of 90,000 fans that watched the final at the Barcelona’s Nou Stadium in Spain.
Racing, who had not claimed the domestic title since 1990, played for 62 minutes with a man less, little more than three weeks after losing to Saracens in the European Champions Cup.
Key to it was reigning World Rugby Player of the Year, Daniel Carter, who once again showed his class with a magnificent performance.
Meanwhile, Josua Tuisova also played well in the final but his effort was not enough to help his side.
Tuisova is expected to be in Fiji next week to join the Vodafone Fiji 7s training camp to prepare for the Rio Olympics.
