Melbourne Storm Coach Craig Bellamy has called upon All Blacks legend Richie McCaw to lift his side ahead of their grand final qualifier against the Brisbane Broncos.
McCaw was a surprise visitor at the NRL club's training session at AAMI Park yesterday, speaking to the squad and spending time with players over lunch.
The Storm host the Broncos tonight, with the winner set to play either the Sydney Roosters or North Queensland Cowboys in the grand final next month.
McCaw was managed for much of his career by a company run by Storm chairman Bart Campbell, and Bellamy used the connection to organise the appearance.
Melbourne are favoured with the bookies to topple the Broncos, who are coming off a brutal 13‑6 semifinal win over the Penrith Panthers last weekend.
The Storm will play the Broncos at 9.55 tonight in the NRL preliminary final while the Roosters will play the Cowboys at 9.40pm tomorrow.
