Rewa has defeated Suva 2-0 in a Vodafone Premier League match at Ratu Cakobau Park last night.
Epeli Saukuru had missed a golden opportunity to score for Rewa in the 14th minute of play when a penalty was given to them, however striker Sairusi Nalaubu scored in the 29th minute of the game taking Rewa up by one goal.
Suva’s Filipe Baravilala scored an own goal in the 30th minute, awarding the Delta Tigers another goal.
Rewa was leading 2-0 at half time.
Rewa Coach, Lorima Dau acknowledged the team for sticking to their game plan.
Rewa now has 13 points on the VPL points table.
Meanwhile, Lautoka defeated Nadi 3-2 at Churchill Park.
Samuela Drudru came in with a shot in the 13th minute which was saved by Nadi goalkeeper Vereti Dickson, but Drudru followed with a rebound and neatly placed the ball past Dickson.
Nadi’s Napolioni Qasevakatini shot in the equaliser a minute before half time.
Both teams were locked 1-all at half time.
Nadi’s Rusiate Matarerega scored in the 71st minute.
Lautoka’s Zibraz Sahib extended their lead after the team was awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute, while Mohammed Shazil scored their final goal to seal Lautoka’s win.
