The Rewa soccer team has achieved its aim of winning back to back titles this year after beating Nadi 2-1 in the final of the Inkk Mobile BOG at Churchill Park this afternoon.

The side won the Vodafone Fiji FACT title just over a month ago.

Iosefo Verevou was the hero of the side as he scored both goals for the Fiji FACT champions.

The half time score was nil-all.

Iosefo Verevou scored the first goal in the 12th minute of the second half before Nadi’s Rusiate Matarereqa equalized in the 23rd minute of the second half.

Verevou scored the winner in the 33rd minute of the second half after former Nadi player Vuniuci Tikomaimereke provided a great cross for Verevou to score the winner.

Both teams started the match at a high tempo and created chances but could not score in the first half.

During the course of the game the two teams displayed constructive football which kept the fans entertained and on the edge of their seats.

Nadi started the second half on a high creating a number of chances and Rewa coach Marika Rodu made some crucial changes that proved vital for Rewa.

Rodu says he had to make the decision of the changes instantly.

Rewa’s hero Verevou has dedicated his goals to his mother who is sick and to his team mates.

Rewa will get to keep this trophy for life as a new trophy will be introduced for next year’s competition.

Rewa won $15,000 as prize money.

Player of the Tournament: Ilimotama Jese of Nadi
