All Blacks captain Kieran Read will end his prestigious test career after next year's World Cup.
It's likely the 33‑year‑old will play overseas after the 2019 tournament, which will see the veteran No 8 chase a third consecutive World Cup title.
Read says he and his family would like to have an overseas experience and after the World Cup seems like an ideal time.
He says they have always thought as a family that they would like to go overseas and use that experience for his kids and that is probably the main option at the moment.
Star first‑five Beauden Barrett and standout lock Brodie Retallick have also indicated overseas moves were a decent possibility after the 2019 World Cup.
The All Blacks will take on Japan at 5.45pm today.
