Canberra Raiders Under 20 Player of the Year Mikaele Ravalawa is still shocked after his name was announced in the Vodafone Fiji Bati squad team ahead of the Rugby League World Cup.
The former Fiji Under 18 sevens star made the switch to rugby league to join the Raiders this year.
He was not expecting that he would find himself lacing up boots alongside household names like Jarryd Hayne, Fiji Bati captain Kevin Naiqama, Akuila Uate, Suliasi Vunivalu, Ashton and Korbin Sims.
Ravalawa was poached from his village and excelled in the National Youth Competition for the Raiders this year, scoring 12 tries in 22 games.
Meanwhile tomorrow, local fans are invited to meet the Bati players at the Albert Park for the "Meet the Bati" fan day which starts at 3.30pm.
The full Bati squad will be there to take pictures and sign jerseys.
Fiji will face PNG before Australia takes on both PNG and finally Fiji this Saturday.
All three match ups will last 40 minutes.
This will be the Kangaroos' first match in Fiji.
The Fiji Bati will be based in Townsville in Queensland for their opening two World Cup matches against United States on 28 October at 9.20pm and Wales on 5 November at 8.30pm before travelling to Canberra to meet Italy on 10 November at 8.40pm.
