Fiji born fullback Kitione Ratu has been named in the Melbourne Rising squad for the Australian National Rugby Championship which starts on the 2nd of next month.
Ratu was part of the Island Breeze Rugby Plus Program this year which was hosted throughout the country.
Island Breeze Rugby Plus Program Logistics Manager, Malakai Yamaivava says Kiti was part of their Sports for Development Team that Toured Australia in May this year and later joined their sister club in Victoria.
He was later drafted into the Box Hill Rugby Club and now being named in the Melbourne Rising Team.
Ratu is the top try scorer in the Victorian Rugby Union Competition in the 2017 Rugby Season.
He was also part of the Fiji Warriors Team in the 2016 season.
The Melbourne Rising will play their first game against Perth Spirit on the 3rd September.
Meanwhile the Telecom Fiji Warriors beat Tonga A 31-15 at Churchill Park in a friendly match.
The Fijian Drua will take on Brisbane City in their first NRC match on September 2nd.
