Fiji-born France based player, Alivereti Raka has been named in the 37 member squad for France for the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Raka got his French citizenship last December which means he can now represent France in the Rugby World Cup in September.
Raka previously played for Nadroga in the 2014 Skipper Cup competition and also has played 7s rugby for the Tovolea and Daveta rugby teams.
Virimi Vakatawa and Noa Nakaitaci didn’t make the France Rugby World Cup squad.
But Raka’s inclusion isn’t the biggest news in French rugby as experienced players, center Mathieu Bastareaud, scrum‑half Morgan Parra and winger Teddy Thomas have been left out.
France is pooled with Argentina, USA, Tonga and England in the Rugby World Cup which will be held from 22nd of September to the 2nd November.
