The race for the HSBC World Sevens Series Title is still wide open.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will have to win the Scotland 7s and finish ahead of South Africa in the England 7s next weekend if they are to claim their second series title.
Fiji is hoping to meet South Africa in the Cup quarter final this weekend.
Coach Ben Ryan said this would be a perfect situation for Fiji and he hopes NZ or Samoa step up in South Africa’s pool to put them in a place where Fiji can meet them in the quarters.
Ryan also said they will just have to get the basics right.
South Africa coach Neil Powell said consistency is the right word to describe the last two tournaments.
Powell has also assembled a strong team which sees Philip Snyman and Stephan Dippenaar back into his side.
Looking at the points table, South Africa leads with 129 points, Fiji is in second place with 125 points, New Zealand is in third place with 120 points while England is in fourth place with 100 points.
Fiji will face Wales at 11.42pm this Saturday in the Scotland 7's.
They take on Portugal at 2.48am Sunday before playing Scotland at 6.21am.
The cup quarter finals will start at 10.28pm Sunday, the cup semifinals will be at 1.58am next Monday while the cup final will be held at 5.20am Monday.
