Students and teachers of Ratu Navula College in Nadi had the privilege this morning to welcome the William Webb Ellis Trophy to Fiji.
While welcoming the representatives from the International Rugby Board and reps from the Fiji Rugby Union, Ratu Navula Principal Setareki Merekula said they were fortunate to welcome the most prestigious rugby trophy in the world.
Merekula added that the short visit of the Webb Ellis Cup has encouraged their students who will be playing for Ratu Navula in the Coca Cola Zero Deans competition this year.
Former All Blacks Rugby World Cup 2011 winning prop John Afoa is accompanying the trophy where he will be contesting a lineout with the Fiji Pearls rep Maria Lutua at the center stage of the Raiwaqa Rugby Club tomorrow.
The trophy was also at the Sleeping Giant Garden in Sabeto and is currently making its way to Suva.
It is expected to be in the capital city at 6 this evening where the Minister for Youth and Sports Commander Viliame Naupoto and IRB Sevens Player of the Year Samisoni Viriviri will receive the Web Ellis Cup at the Vodafone Arena.
Tomorrow, the trophy will be at Mahatma Ghandi Memorial School, Suva Primary School, the Land Rover outlet at Stewart Street and Waimanu road Suva, the Raiwaqa Rugby Club, the Qauia Rugby Club and the British High Commission Suva.
On Saturday it will be the main feature at the Rugby World Cup Qualifier match between the Cook Islands and the Vodafone Flying Fijians at 3pm and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
