“The Ratu Kadavulevu School ruggers will not take any team lightly.”
Those were the words of RKS Vice Principal, Walesi Soqoiwasa as RKS prepare to defend five Powerade Super Deans Rugby Championship titles this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
With their Under 17 losing to Marist Brothers High School in the quarterfinals, Soqoiwasa says they are happy to be meeting their neighbor Queen Victoria School in the Under 14,16 and 17 finals and Lelean Memorial School in the Under 15 and 19 finals.
Soqoiwasa adds that they will not underestimate Cuvu Collage who come from the well known rugby province of Nadroga.
RKS has won the Deans title 21 times and drawn 5 times.
They first won the trophy in 1961 and hold the record for the longest defence of the Deans Trophy from 1980 to 1985.
Last year, they became the first school to win all the trophies on offer.
Meanwhile Cuvu College will be playing their first ever Deans final.
The only Western school that has reached the final and win is Ratu Navula College in 2013.
RKS will take on Cuvu College at 4.40pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary of this match on our sister station Viti FM 92.2FM.
