The Queensland Reds have added depth to their backline stocks as they signed Fijian flyer Filipo Daugunu for the 2018 Super Rugby season.
The Reds also announced the re‑signing of Chris Fea-uai‑Sautia.
Daugunu has been the regular starter for Queensland Country in this year’s National Rugby Championship, providing some of the attacking impetus for the team’s most successful season in the competition’s short history.
He will join the Reds for the first time in 2018 Super Rugby season, after a spectacular season for Country in his debut.
The 22‑year‑old former Fijian soccer international moved to Brisbane ahead of the 2017 Queensland Premier Rugby season, where he was a regular starter for Wests, before earning a call up to the NRC.
Daugunu has quickly earned a reputation as a sound finisher, having already scored 10 tries in his four games – the most in the competition.
The Drua will host Queensland Country at 2pm Saturday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM, 92.2FM.
