Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association Secretary Vuli Waqa says the decision to let Queen Victoria School’s sprinter Ilaitia Waqa to compete in the 2017 Coca-Cola Games is from the Tailevu Zone officials and has nothing to do with them.
Waqa says there was an appeal and all principals within Tailevu decided to let him compete.
The Tailevu Zone officials have ruled that the starter was at fault in the race.
Waqa will be up against Natabua High School sprinter Shane Tuvusa, Keasi Naidroka and Tony Lemeki of Marist Brothers High School and Sailosi Tubuilagi of Ratu Kadavulevu School in the 100 and 200 metres senior boys events this year.
The Coca‑Cola Games will be held from next Thursday to Saturday.
