The Queen Victoria School Under‑18 rugby team has a lot more to play for especially after the devastation left by Tropical Cyclone Winston early this year at the school.

The horrific experience on the night of the cyclone will forever be in their memories as some students huddled helplessly in their classrooms while the monster cyclone destroyed the school.

QVS beat defending Deans Trophy champions Ratu Kadavulevu School 19‑18 in the Eastern Zone final and now stands at first place, RKS at second spot while Lelean Memorial School are in third position.

Eastern Zone president Mesake Tukai is confident they will dominate this year’s competition again.

QVS will meet Suva Grammar School at 2pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.

In the other Coke Zero Deans quarterfinals, Cuvu College will face Nasinu Secondary School at 11am, Marist Brothers High School against Lelean Memorial School at 12.30pm while RKS will meet Ratu Navula College at 4pm at the ANZ Stadium.

Meanwhile the Western Zone Under 19 final was completed last week with Ratu Navula defeating Xavier College 25-12.
