It will be a proud moment for Netani Ross of Swami Vivekananda College as he will be Fiji’s flagbearer at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championship that will begin this Thursday at the Damodar Aquatic Centre.
The Year 12 student will also captain the Boys Team at the championship.
Ross will be taking part in three individual events including the 50 metres and 100 metres free style.
Ross says that he is aiming to set some records in his events.
Another top swimmer to watch out for will be Marist Brothers High School Temafa Yalimaiwai, who broke three national records this year in the National Schools Swimming Championship in Suva.
Meanwhile, Rosemarie Rova of Swami Vivekanada College will captain the Girls Team at the event.
She is the younger sister of swimmers, Cheyenne and Adele Rova.
Rova says that she is hoping to get valuable experience from the championship.
36 swimmers from Fiji will take part in the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championship. 250 swimmers from 11 countries including USA, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are taking part in the championship.
