Pools drawn for 2018 Courts IDC

Defending champion, Lautoka has been drawn in the group of death  for the 80th Courts IDC as they are in Group A with last year’s finalist Ba, Labasa and giant killers, Nasinu.

Group B has Suva, Nadi and Rewa and either Tavua or Dreketi will join this group. This will be confirmed next week after the completion of the Vodafone Premier League as Tavua and Dreketi are fighting for survival in the Premier competition.

Nasinu has joined the Premier competition after a long eight years and their first assignment in the Courts IDC starts with champion sides like Ba, Lautoka and Labasa.

However, Nasinu’s President, Oniel Chand says these champion teams should get ready to face Nasinu.

Chand confirms that Cope Construction Limited will sponsor Nasinu in the new season.

In the Senior division, defending champion, Nadroga is in Group A with Navua and Taveuni. Either Seaqaqa or Rakiraki will join this group and a decision will be made on the 16th of this month.

Lami, Savusavu and Tailevu/Naitasiri are in Group B and will be joined by either Dreketi or Tavua.

Courts Fiji Limited has provided a sponsorship of $120,000 for the tournament and has also announced that their sponsorship will continue for another five years.

The winning team in the Premier competition will walk away with $20,000.

The group matches of the Courts IDC will be played from the 5th to the 7th while the semifinals and final will be played on the 9th and 10th of next month at the ANZ Stadium.
