Pacific Games competition begins in Apia today

The Pacific Games competition will begin in Apia today with Team Fiji participating in some events.

The Fiji Mixed Team will take on Tonga in Badminton competition this hour, the Fiji Women’s Basketball team will face Cook Islands at 11am while the Men’s Basketball team will take on Tahiti at 3.30pm.

The Fiji Women’s Cricket team will take on Cook Islands at 8.30am then PNG at 11am while the Men’s team will face Vanuatu at 8.30am.

The Fiji Women’s Football team will face American Samoa at 11am while the Men’s Football team will play Tahiti at 12pm.

The Fiji Women’s Rugby League 9s will play PNG at 12.25pm while the Men’s team will face Samoa at 2.20pm and then Niue at 4.45pm.

Jeremiah Faktaufono will compete in the Men’s 5km Open Water Swimming at 9am while Matelita Buadromo will compete in the Women’s 5km Open Water Swimming at 9.05am.

In the Table Tennis competition the Women’s Round 1 competition will begin at 8am, Round 2 will be held at 12.30pm while Round 3 will begin at 5pm.

In the Men’s competition, Round 1 will begin at 10.15am while Round 2 will held at 2.45pm.

359 athletes from Fiji will be competing in 26 events in the  Pacific Games while Australia and New Zealand will also be participating in some of the events.
