There will be over 300 gold medals up for grabs in this year’s Fiji Games that will be held from tomorrow to Monday.
Athletes from 24 districts will be competing for medals in the archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, billiard and snooker, boxing, darts, golf, karate, para‑sports, powerlifting, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and weightlifting.
The 24 districts that will be competing include Korovou, Nausori, Suva, Lami, Nasinu, Vunidawa, Navua, Labasa, Savusavu, Seaqaqa, Taveuni, Saqani, Wainikoro, Lautoka, Yasawa, Ba, Tavua, Nadarivatu, Rakirakri, Nadi, Nadroga, Navosa, Levuka and Rotuma.
FASANOC says that most of the National Federations will use the Fiji Games as the final trial for team selection for the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa that will be held in June.
Suva are the defending champions of the Fiji Games having won a total of 30 gold medals in the last Fiji Games in 2017.
