More than 100 people were present at the Nadi International Airport this morning to receive the body of 17-year-old Muni Shalit Reddy who drowned in Samoa while on an excursion with the Vodafone Fiji Under 17 soccer team.

A family member, Sudesh Raju said close family members and friends, Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Iliesa Delana, Fiji Football Association Executives, Under 17 players and school mates from Nadi Muslim College were present at the Airport.

Raju said Reddy’s grandfather insisted at the Airport that he wanted to see his grandson before he was taken to the Nadi Mortuary.

Family members and friends were then allowed to see Reddy in what was an emotional moment for everyone who had come to the Airport.

Reddy’s body will be taken to his residence tomorrow at about 9.30am at Malolo Road in Nadi and he will be buried at 1pm at the Nadovi Cemetary.
