Blues captain James Parsons believes his side's win over the Lions will be a turning point for the remainder of the season.
It was the Blues' first win of the season after narrow defeats to the Highlanders and Chiefs.
The win also showed the strength of the New Zealand Super Rugby teams as the Blues who are the lowest ranked New Zealand Super Rugby team at the moment beat the Lions who are the top South African Super Rugby team.
Parsons labelled the result as one of the best of his professional rugby career.
He says they will now take the season week by week.
In the Super Rugby this week, the Chiefs will play the Bulls at 6.35pm Friday.
The Highlanders will play the Crusaders at 6.35pm Saturday while the Brumbies will play the Sharks at 8.45pm Saturday.
The Stormers meet the Blues at 1.05am Sunday, the Lions meet the Sunwolves at 3.15am Sunday, the Reds play the Jaguares at 9.40am Sunday while the Waratahs play the Rebels at 5.05pm Sunday.
