It has been made clear by Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Coach John Mckee that no one in the 42-member training squad for the Maori All Blacks tests and Pacific Nations Cup is guaranteed of going to the Rugby World Cup in September.
McKee is also happy that all players have declared their availability and are injury free heading into the camp on the 1st of next month in Suva.
There will be a lot of competition in the squad as local players Eroni Mawi, Luke Tagi, Joeli Veitayaki, Mesulame Dolokoto, Tuvere Veremalua, Johnny Dyer, Mosese Voka, Frank Lomani and Serupepeli Vularika have made the cut.
McKee says some younger players have been putting pressure on the senior players.
Fiji play the Maori All Blacks on 13th July at the ANZ Stadium at 3pm. The two teams also face off in Auckland on 20th July.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay in the Rugby World Cup in Japan which kicks off in September this year.
The Flying Fijians’ opening match in the Rugby World Cup is against the Wallabies on 21st September.
