It is still not clear at the moment which team will challenge Nadroga for the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan trophy this weekend.
This comes after the Cakaudrove rugby side protested to the Fiji Rugby Union that Naitasiri North Bulls fielded an unregistered player during their B Division final last week.
The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that they have received the complaint and a final decision is expected to be made after the games committee meeting today.
Fijivillage understands that Eloni Dove who featured for Naitasiri North Bulls during the final was a registered player under the Tailevu Rugby Union.
Meanwhile, the Nadroga Rugby Union has stated that it will not feature in this weekend’s Farebrother Sullivan Trophy match if the Fiji Rugby Union does not keep its promise.
This comes after Nadroga demanded FRU to clear the issue in relation to their gate takings starting from the Skipper Cup final before last week’s match against Suva.
An urgent meeting was then called after which the FRU paid $16,000 to the Nadroga Rugby Union for their share of the gate takings of the Skipper Cup final.
Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawawalu confirms that FRU promised them that it would pay their share of gate takings from the first Farebrother Challenge match this week.
Matawalu says they have given FRU until midday Friday before they make their final decision.
The Nadroga Rugby Union is still awaiting confirmation from FRU on whether the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge match this week will be played at the Ra Sports ground.
