Former Wallaby and current Tonga coach Toutai Kefu could not resist a sly jab at New Zealand Rugby as it was announced his side will play a World Cup warm‑up match in Auckland this year.

1 NEWS' suggested it was nice for New Zealand Rugby to give something back to the islands, to which Kefu replied: "I think so, since half their team are islanders."

Fijian players such as Joe Rokocoko, Sitiveni Sivivatu and Waisake Naholo have played for the All Blacks.

Tonga will play Fiji on August 31st at Eden Park in a build-up to the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
