Aspiring athletes leaving near Rakiraki town will now have a proper court to play indoor sports after the opening of a new multipurpose court earlier today.
It was a joyous occasion for youths living near Rakiraki town as the Bank of the South Pacific handed over the new multipurpose court facility to the Rakiraki Town Council which will be accessible to the general public.
BSP confirmed the budget commitment for the project stands at a cost of $10,000.
Project Coordinator and BSP Rakiraki branch manager Ronika Prakash said this is a way of helping the community to enjoy healthy living through sports and is in line with BSP’s support to the Pacific games.
The four sports that will be accommodated by the new multipurpose court facility are Volleyball, Badminton, Netball and Tennis.
